ODE Sessions - David Ehle and Nancy Haefeli, ODE
3 Hour Block of Sessions - First session to be an update on Fiscal and Staff related topics and include or general information such as data submission goals.  Topics for the other sessions to include: Fy09 Update and Clarifications, New Grad Reporting Period, New Reports and Report Changes for October and other EMIS issues.   Handouts to be made available on Monday September 8th.  You must bring your own copies of the ODE presentations.

Software Updates for EMIS FY09 - Teresa Williams, SSDT
The SSDT will review all new elements added for the October reporting cycle and where those new elements can be found by the users within the software. Any elements that have been moved to a new entry location will also be mentioned. The list of elements will cover student, staff, course and district related items. The programs being removed from the software will be highlighted as well. Any software updates not yet available will be outlined as reference for districts.

Web Application Updates for FY09 - Teresa Williams, SSDT
The EMIS web application will undergo major changes for FY09. The primary student data maintenance will be available solely from this application. This session will include demonstration of the web application and the entry screens. Time will be allotted as part of this session to provide feedback to the SSDT staff regarding the new software screens. Previous entry screens will also be noted.

ITC Technical Updates EMIS FY09 - Teresa Williams, SSDT
This session is for ITC and Large City Independent Districts only.  SSDT staff will review the technical updates for EMIS FY09.  This will include a summary of the file changes required, as well as a detailed overview of the conversion program ITCs  will have available to convert EMIS 2.6 files to EMIS 2.7 files.  The software installation procedure and set up for FY09 will also be discussed.  Other FY09 related updates will be reviewed.

SSDT – EMIS/USPS Staff Updates – Same description as student track

USAS Updates and User Feedback – The first part of this session the SSDT will show you all the new and updated features of the USAS State Software.  This will include updates to USASWeb that have already been made and also new features that will be coming.    The second part of this session will be open to the audience to have an open discussion with members of the development team.  This is your chance to let them know what changes you would like to see happen, what changes they have already made and you really like, or if there is anything else you would like to discuss about future development this is your chance.

USAS New Hire Reporting Changes – New hire reporting changes have occurred and the SSDT will go over the changes to the software and also changes to the New Hire Reporting Web page.

USPS Updates – The SSDT will show you all the new and updated features of the USPS State Software.  This will include updates to USPSWEB that have already been made and also new features that will be coming.

USPS User Feedback – This will be an open discussion with the state software development team.  This is your chance to let them know what changes you would like to see happen, what changes they have already made and you really like, or if there is anything else you would like to discuss about future development, this is your chance.

ODE Staff/Fiscal – Same description as student track

Employee Kiosk – Available Features – Come learn about what features the Employee Kiosk has and have it may benefit your district.  Your staff can login to the Kiosk and get information about pays, benefits, request leave and a whole lot more.  Your payroll staff can also use the Kiosk to download the approved leave and load it directly into ATDSCN.  This will save data entry for the fiscal staff.

Fiscal Potpourri – There will be many different things discussed with this session, including the CA Helpdesk service, Web reports (Fiscweb and monthly reports), Security of using the web and open discussion.

Your Funding – Presenter – Area Coordinator from ODE
Are you getting as much funding from ODE as possible? Do you know what you should be looking for when view EMIS reports? An Area Coordinator will be leading this discussion and you will learn what to look for and how staff member should be coded to generate the most possible funding from ODE.

This session will provide a good overview of the very latest VMware technologies and provide a peek into what the near future holds. Items of particular interest include Lab Manager 3.0, Virtual Desktop Manager 3.0 (currently in beta), and VI4 (currently in beta)!

Safety and Security: What Your Network Wants You to Know - Presenter - Dataserv
Just when you thought you were getting a handle on your Network, along comes Safety and Security. In this session, DataServ will address the components of Safety and Security including Access Controls, Video Surveillance, Fire Detection, and Intrusion Prevention. We will then detail how they will affect the performance and management of your LAN, WLAN, MAN and WAN connections. Finally, we will try to set reasonable expectations for what the technologies can do today, such as tying into your IP Phone systems.

OECN VXS - Presenter - Dave Smith, SSDT
Session will discuss the new OECN VXS service which will replace USP to provide the transport layer for OECN RPC. Installation, configuration and management will be discussed. If time permits, additional information will be discussed for improving the reliability of SSDT web applications, including Glassfish as an alternative to Tomcat.
