FORUM for SIS/EMIS

Provide an introduction to the Public EMIS and DA-Site EMIS and SIS Forums. The session will cover registration, authorization, and creation of notes in this Web-based bulletin board system used across the state. Other features of the Forum software such as the Tracker, Unseen Entries, and Email Notifications will also be demonstrated.

  DSL - Data for Student Learning will be demonstrated during this session. Learn to access student information, course, teacher info, schedules, course history, attendance and medical information through your web browser. See how you can view a student's proficiency progress by subscores and by classes or teachers. Use DSL as a Classroom management tool to show teacher schedules, class lists with student pictures, upcoming birthdays, etc.

SAFARI/UDMS WITH EMIS AND SIS

USPS/EMIS HOW THEY WORK TOGETHER

Description:
This is a session created to bridge the gap between payroll and EMIS personnel functions. Questions that continually keep coming up are who enters what information and why. In an effort to take a more proactive approach, this class was created, not to define job responsibilities, but to clarify and show reason for who does what when entering EMIS information for staff reporting. By explaining how EMIS and Payroll fields connect users were more confident in entering information.

INTRODUCTION TO DSL AND USAS

Description:
An introduction to the USAS portion of the OECN/DSL project. Districts participating in DSL will be able to query and view USAS data using a web browser interface. Vendor data is available now and USAS account queries will be available soon. Feedback from users will also be solicited during this session to gather ideas about what data would be most useful via the DSL.

Also discussed will be a separate service called "FiscWeb", which is being offered by some DA Sites. FiscWeb is a simple technique for making existing State Software reports available via a web browser.

NEWCNT

  This session will focus on how to effectively use the NEWCNT program to enter new contract data with a special emphasis on problem areas that cause accrued wages and days worked to be incorrect on the job records.  Also covered, will be the process of using NEWCNT for a mid-year contract change, with and without a retro payment
to employees. 

ODBC for USAS and USPS

Users will learn how to install the ODBC drivers and then use the tool to connect to USPS to build custom Employee Benefit Statements. A demonstration will also be given on using ODBC to build USAS reports.

STRS FY 2000-2001 Updates and Changes
