Software Advisory Committee meeting updates and open
discussion

This session will include an update
from the ITC staff who are set on the Software Advisory Committee. Open
discussion will be included in this session.
Open discussion forum on OECN
software; USAS/USPS/EIS
Presenter:
ITC staff are encouraged to
participate in an open discussion regarding the OECN state software. This will
be a means to share ideas, shortcuts and internal procedures as well as a time
to discuss potential enhancements and to report software issues to the SSDT.
USPS Software updates for September release

Information and details for the USPS
software updates for the September 2006 release. Updates will include
description of changes to USPS V4.2 and the USPS Web applications.
USPS New features reviewed
Presenter: SSDT Staff
This session will be a review of
updates completed in USPS V4.2 completed over the previous year. We will review
the Health Savings Accounts, ODJFS changes, PAYDIR updates, Customized payrollcd
procedures and board share annuity records, among other topics.
Web browser Tips
Presenter: SSDT Staff
SSDT staff will present web brower
tips for use in the Web based software.
USAS Updates
Presenter: SSDT Staff
Software updates made
to USAS V6.1 and the web updates will be reviewed with a focus on the USAS web
changes.
Technical web installation and
problem solving
Presenter: Dave Smith, SSDT
This session will review the process
for installing the web based software. In addition time will be spent
discussing ways to trouble shoot issues with the web based software.
Options for assisting with PC based software
applications
Presenter: Dave Smith, SSDT
Time will be spent on an overview of
various PC assistance software such as PC Anywhere, Net Meeting, Ultra VNC, etc.
EMIS Staff Reporting Update
Presenter: Dean Reineke;SSDT, Teresa Williams; SSDT
An explanation of the new credential ID and how that will be integrated into
USPS will be provided to ITC staff. In addition, the new February reporting
cycle will be reviewed and the impact to districts will be highlighted. The
newly added contractor records will be covered as well as a general review of
the October reporting cycle.
General update from the SSDT on items
new for fiscal year
2007. This will include a status on the release of October aggregations and
other new Fy07 programs, an update and demo of new items with the EMIS Web
Application, and plans for the rest of Fy07.
Microsoft Reporting Services
Presenter: Ben Black,SPARCC and Jeff Dyer,SPARCC
A demonstration of
how Microsoft Reporting Services can be used as a
web-based report writer with SQL databases, using SQL server 2005. This
tool should work with any ODBC compliant data source.
CA-USD
Presenter: Terry Noel, TCCSA
An update on CA-USD
and changes that would allow other ITC sites to
be able to view other ITC EMIS tickets. A discussion and demo of how this
might work with the Statewide support of EMIS and other packages.

(D3A2) project along with an update of the project and a look ahead for the
rest of the year.

Like many sites, SWOCA has been
running both SOPHOS and
Mail Marshall on our systems for several years. Both products were
effective but sometimes caused performance and political issues and
lacked powerful reporting and monitoring tools. In May SWOCA
installed a Sophos ES4000 appliance and the situation has improved
significantly. The ES4000 has powerful tools that allow
administrators to track messages, produce statistical reports and
generate predictive metrics on system capacity and availability.
Many other features and benefits are included! The demonstration/
discussion will include a review of benefits to SWOCA a full
technical presentation on the Sophos ES4000 Appliance.
